24!

In view of recent events on Haiti and previous natural disasters, we are all I'm sure, shocked and dismayed at the response time in helping survivors.
In the case of Haiti's earthquake, nearly a week passed before any substantial relief reached those who survived.
I have devised a plan named 24! (formed on Facebook 28/1/10 bobsmart scuk@hotmail.com)
I hope it'll reach someone, or some people who can actually put it into action or perhaps devise a better one.
Getting emergency supplies to survivors within 24 hours and easing their distress - that's all that matters.

1)Individual packages (5kgs to 10kgs) each with it's own parachute - enough to sustain two people for two days containing bottled water and water purification tablets/dreid vacuum packed foods/"throw down" two person tent/sleeping bags x2/wind-up radio with single frequency channel/first-aid kit.
2)Warehouses - 8x locations around the world within 8hrs of any disaster each containing one million packages.
3)Rapid Response Taskforces - trained and equipped with cargo planes and able to be loaded and air-bourne within 2hrs.
4)Air drops - every two days until main relief supplies have come through and are established.

That's it!
Bob Smart
PS Just to be clear!
a)24! has been formed as a pressure group
b)the mechanism for my plan already exists, I'm sure, with the U.S. Government/U.N. but perhaps in another form.
c)please join the group on Facebook - when we have enough members and carry enough weight we can then lobby influential people and target the media to take it to the next level.
d)who knows where and when the next natural disaster will happen, but perhaps it's survivors will get the immediate help it needs.
e)we can do this!
